What’s in the perfect ‘Emergency Kit’ for the wedding weekend?  Our Top 5 Essentials

As a wedding planner, it’s our job to plan, design, and execute the big day and your job to sit back and enjoy the official start to married life. After 40 years of collective experience spent producing celebrations of all kinds, we have a few favorite items that come with us to every event - and we can’t wait to share them with you!

SEWING KIT

...and we make sure to include safety pins, too. When something inevitably breaks or pops off of you, a bridesmaid, or your S.O., a sewing kit will be there to save the day (and your style). Also, if you dance right out of your bustle (which happens all the time!) a safety pin can come in quite handy to re-bustle a train if any buttons, ribbons, or stitches pull out.

STAIN REMOVER

Spilled some champagne during hair and makeup? Or, your nephew accidentally drops that bruschetta on the train of your gown? Stain remover is our savior. Shout wipes always come in handy at some point during the big day. In a pinch, use soda water and a clean towel to blot a stain away. Another fun fact: a dash of baby powder hides stains on a white dress, linen, or shoes exceptionally well.

PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER

This is a must. You can’t have an unreachable vendor. We tell all of our creative partners and clients alike that we’re only a phone call or text away if you need anything at all! Batteries often run low with heavy use, especially in remote locations with no WiFi service. Portable chargers are game-changers.

TAPE

By tape, we mean we bring alllll the tape; fashion tape, scotch tape, duct tape, floral tape - you won’t regret investing in these supplies. Fashion tape has saved our clients more than once and it is one of the most coveted items in our bag. Scotch and duct tape are super helpful to have on hand as a vendor, particularly if you’re celebrating at an outdoor property where infrastructure is being brought in and the natural elements are at play. You may need to tack down a tablecloth on a windy day, repair a floral installation, or tackle any number of other unforeseen challenges.

FIRST AID KIT

This includes Aleve and Advil, too! Whether it’s you, a vendor, or even the littlest ring-bearer, someone always needs a bandaid or pain reliever. Pro tip: vaseline on your heels can keep your shoes bearable past your first-look portraits.

Challenges arise when you’re producing any type of celebration - no matter the size or scale. Having a trusted vendor team will really help alleviate any anxiety especially on the day of your wedding. A final tip? Delegation is key. Kindly ask a loved one to act as a trusted ‘keeper’ of your important items so that you can relax and enjoy the bash!
