Best Signature Cocktails for a Summer Wedding

We are toasting to the end of summer with three of our favorite signature cocktails to delight every palate, and palette! These libations have kept our guests cool all season long and highlight the delicious flavors of citrus, spice, and herbs. Clink, clink!

Blackberry Mojito

Beat August’s heat with a refreshing mojito. Mojitos can be made with a variety of different fruits but we love how the addition of North Carolina blackberries leave our guests feeling like they’ve stamped their passports to Havana. Here’s the recipe:

  • 2 oz white rum

  • 2 oz club soda

  • ½ ounce lime juice (or 2 lime wedges)

  • 6-7 mint leaves

  • 3 blackberries

  • ¾ oz simple syrup

  • Cup of ice

WATERMELON LEMONADE

You can never go wrong with this punchy pair of flavors, and the soft coral color is the perfect enhancement to any summer soiree. The sweet yet sour taste of this cocktail is sure to hit the spot while sitting beside a billowy tented affair.

Here’s the recipe (and yes, it’s as simple as it sounds):

  • Fresh watermelon

  • Lemonade

  • Vodka

  • Ice

  • Watermelon and/or lemon garnishes

(Coconut) Mint Julep

The coconut flavor adds a spin on the typical mint julep recipe. Does anything scream beach vibes more than the flavor of coconut? While difficult to pinpoint what makes it so delicious, this refresher is creamy and light, yet zesty and rich at the same time. Make it for your next backyard gathering at home, paired with a savory brunch spread:

  • 1 ½ oz white rum

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • ¾ oz coconut cream

We always recommend having at least one signature cocktail at your wedding. Not only is it a great way to personalize your affair, but helps with the flow of bar service to have a batch drink (or better yet - an arrival beverage!) on hand. We’d love to hear if one of these makes your menu!
