5 Ways to Celebrate with Distinct Wedding Style

With the number of weddings at an all time high this year, we understand our clients’ desires to make theirs stand out and host an experience they feel proud to share with their loved ones. We work deliberately to ensure our celebrations exude authenticity and effortlessness. During our virtual or in-person design sessions, we urge our clients to embrace their personal style and truest desires as we construct their wedding and weekend events together. Here are a few ways our clients are celebrating differently in 2022 and 2023.

1. Destination Wedding

The options are endless when you decide to host a destination wedding. Whether you envision exchanging vows on a pristine beach, celebrating in an illuminated tent in the scenic mountains or escaping to a destination abroad, the options are endless. Having a destination wedding allows you to vacation pre or post nuptials, host a more intimate wedding, or even an extended celebration. Looking ahead to later this year, our team will be sipping limoncello on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, breathing in the fresh New England air in Connecticut (seriously - how charming is the Mayflower Inn? Can’t wait to get back there this summer!), and producing several mountain wedding weekends at Old Edwards and Flat Mountain Farm in Highlands and High Hampton in Cashiers, NC.

2. Elope First

Eloping first before having a ceremony became a very popular choice amongst couples during the pandemic, but we think it’s still a great option for a couple wanting something non-traditional. Eloping allows the couple to share an extremely intimate moment with only each other and focus on the foundation of their marriage. It can take away some of the pressure and allows the newly married couple to plan a reception later, when they’re ready.  We’ve seen couples celebrate immediately after their return, a few months later or even on their one year anniversary…it's all up to the couple.

3. Shh…It’s a Surprise!

Back in 2021, we were delighted to plan our first ever surprise wedding. Guests were invited to our clients’ home for a party to celebrate their engagement. Little did they know that they would actually witness the exchange of marriage vows on the porch and enjoy a festive evening of celebration with the newlyweds. Talk about throwing out the rule book!

4. No Bridal Party

This is a trend we’ve seen more and more of lately and for a number of different reasons. Some couples have trouble selecting and narrowing it down and some couples just want their friends to enjoy their wedding. Regardless of the reason, brides (and grooms) should never feel pressured to have a wedding party. It is important to remember that friends and family will all gather to celebrate your special day whether they’ve got the title of “bridesmaid”, “groomsman” or not.

5. Alternative Fashion

Bridal fashion is constantly evolving, much due to social media and the emergence of new designers. In the past few years, brides have ventured away from the traditional white gown look, by curating multiple outfits or going in a completely different direction (cue the pantsuit!) We always encourage our brides to choose an outfit that she feels the most comfortable and confident in. If you’re looking for guidance during this process, we strongly urge you to consider hiring a wedding stylist like our dear friend, Gabrielle Hurwitz
