Celebrating Women in the Wedding Industry for Women’s History Month

Who Runs The (Wedding) World? Mostly Girls!

March has been Women’s History Month since 1987. Since then, people have used this month to celebrate women’s contributions to society, culture and history. As a female-owned and founded business, Rebecca Rose Events takes immense pride in our all-female team. From graphic design to floral design, event logistics and custom website development, our unique skill sets and personalities blend together to offer a comprehensive and joyful experience for our clients. And during trying times (like a global pandemic!), we rely on the culture of our company and those aforementioned bright-faced team members to push each other forward and fine-tune our craft year after year.

We’re forever and always here to champion and celebrate the dreams, passions and rights of women. As wedding planners to your special day, we often have a front row seat to witness so many special bonds of women from sisters, mothers, friends, partners and loved ones. It’s not lost on us that our roles as planners and designers often enable us to form special bonds with them too.  There are so many women we’ve worked with over the years - both clients and fellow business women alike - that we now consider lifelong friends. We also consider it a great privilege to provide coaching to many women in our industry through our RRE Method workshops and online courses. It is one of our greatest joys to uplift others and watch their businesses grow.

In the spirit of unity, we believe there is  no time like the present to honor the contributions women have made to the wedding industry. In an effort to recognize others, here are five of our #sheros that continue to exceed the status quo and motivate our company to color outside the lines, constantly innovate, and keep moving the needle.

  1. ANJA WINIKKA, co-founder of Maroo, which offers cutting edge financial technology that seeks to modernize money for the wedding world. Anja has been a force in the wedding world for many years and it’s been incredible to see this newest venture take flight.

  2. RANDI SMITH, founder of local (ish) to us confectionery boutique, Sugar Euphoria. We’ve known Randi for years and watched her build an exquisite brand known for its uncompromising artistry when it comes to wedding cakes and desserts. Follow here to be inspired, and keep an eye out for some of her gorgeous work to be featured in a few of our upcoming weddings in 2022.

  3. MADISON SNIDER, founder of Fewer Finer, a fine jewelry company that specializes in high end pieces for everyday wear. We may be biased, because Madison is our client, but we’re smitten with her entrepreneurial spirit and the way that she embraces the beauty of simplicity in curating and creative her collection of signature and vintage pieces - including stunning bridal jewelry. If you’re not already, give her a follow.

  4. TAMMY NOEL, founder of Atlanta-based curated tabletop rental company, TableMade. We’ve watched Tammy grow her business in such a beautiful way, and after recently having the opportunity to work with her, we know there are great things in store for TableMade. Follow along here and feast your eyes on the beautifully curated collection of design elements for the modern table.

  5. MARY MARANTZ knows what it takes to build a wedding business from the ground up, and after hearing her speak over six years ago, it’s no surprise to us at all that she’s now a best-selling author, inspiring countless women well beyond the wedding industry with her incredible story of a journey from truly humble beginnings.

As a final thought, we just *had* to share this inspiring BRIDES article with 34 quotes on love + marriage from some of the most empowering women in history - past and present.

With love and respect,

Becca + Betsy
