Fall Student Internships

In the past decade the wedding industry has received tons of press, both good and bad. From shows like "Say Yes to the Dress" and "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" to royal and celebrity weddings broadcasted on major networks, it's no surprise that more and more people are considering careers in the wedding industry. Creativity and glamour are the two things that we hear time and time again that appeal most to individuals making the leap to the wedding careers.

Becca and I both love our jobs and feel so lucky to work in this field filled with amazing professionals who are fueled with imagination and innovation. Like most things in life, the reality of the day-to-day career is a lot different than what's portrayed in the media. There is a whole lot of sweat, heavy lifting, late nights, and early mornings that happen behind the scenes to make our business and our events run smoothly.  Becca and I appreciate the total package because to us, it’s all worth it to watch a bride and groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day and dance the night away under a canopy of an event that perfectly represents their newly joined life together. It’s not just the glamour or creativity... serving and loving our clients fulfills us!

Our internship program affords college students serious about pursuing a career in the wedding industry an opportunity to get real behind-the-scenes experience before graduation. After completing our program, 50% of our student interns are thankful for the opportunity but recognize the wedding industry isn't the right career path for them. The other 50% fall in love with the wedding industry and never look back!  We see both outcomes as equally invaluable learning experiences. That is exactly what an internship is meant to be - an opportunity to test a career and get a real taste of what it’s like.

If you are a college student considering a career in the wedding industry, we'd love for you to apply for our internship program. Students from our internship program have gone onto work for major magazine publications, large travel and planning companies, and even started their own small businesses.

The ideal student intern candidate is someone who:

  • Is seriously considering a future in the wedding industry

  • Has a passion for serving others and believes in the love behind a marriage

  • Has a can-do attitude and is willing to work hard to get the job done

  • Is responsible, can work independently, and wants to help find creative solutions to challenges.

  • Cares tremendously about attention to detail

Very important: this internship is only offered for current college students seeking academic credit. If chosen for the internship, you will need to be available to work in our design studio in Winston-Salem.
