Becca Designs the Nursery - Part III

Earlier this year I shared some of my inspiration behind Piper's nursery (to see more, be sure to read Part 1 and Part 2). Now that this precious little room is finished and our daughter is here, I'm excited to reveal the completed project! Special thanks to Nancy Ray Photography for these images.

We have loved every moment of life with our little girl and I can honestly say that walking into her sweet little room instantly makes us more cheerful (even in the middle of a crying baby meltdown)! I frequently catch Piper staring at the colorful floral wallpaper when I'm sitting in the glider rocking her. We've noticed that she is always drawn to bright colors and that makes me so happy.

The quilt hanging over her crib was made by my Mema (Piper's great grandmother!) and not only does it work beautifully with her room, but it will become such a special heirloom keepsake. I selected fabrics from Spoonflower and found a special pattern and Mema did the rest! She also made two small pillows that add a little extra color for Piper's crib and the comfy grey chair.

My sister in law (Piper's Aunt Jordy) hand lettered and painted that beautiful canvas above her crib with an adorable quote from A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh.

My brother, Jared, and my husband, Jarrod, (yes - same name, different spelling!) helped install lots of little special details. I wanted to include a few more gold tidbits since we included pretty gold painted porcelain pulls on the drawers. In order to avoid spending a fortune, we simply made good use of some gold spray paint! These shelving brackets from Ikea worked perfectly and we just painted them gold. Voila!

For whatever reason, while preparing this nursery, I fell in love with elephants! I did't want a "themed" nursery, but it was fun to include a few little playful critters. The elephant mobile (not available anymore, but this is a similar one!) and the rocker shown below were both gifts from dear friends, purchased at Pottery Barn Kids.

Prepping this sweet little room was such a fun project and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Now that Piper is here, it seems like her little personality fits this bright and happy space perfectly!

XOXO, Becca
