Nicole & Skyler's Wedding at Cross Creek Country Club

Yesterday Betsy shared Nicole and Skyler's rehearsal dinner (see here if you missed it!) and today I'm sharing a few peeks at the wedding day. We love these two so much! Nicole and Skyler were married at Central United Methodist Church in Nicole's hometown of Mt. Airy, North Carolina. For those of you who don't know, it is worth noting that Mt. Airy is the hometown of Andy Griffith and widely believed to be the inspiration for the town of Mayberry in the Andy Griffith Show. The best part about this whole little tidbit of pop culture history is that Mt. Airy really is the friendly, cheerful place that Mayberry was. It is a small town full of smiles, sweet neighbors, and love. This was so evident on this wedding day, as so many friends and members of the community (many who have known the bride most of her life!) gathered to celebrate with this family.

When we started designing her wedding, Nicole told us that she loves simple details and a soft, neutral palette. Together we chose elegant fabrics, patterns and textures, papers and design elements in ivory, white, taupe and gold to create an atmosphere of purity and warmth. I just love how everything turned out. Be sure to read all the way to the bottom to see a few of my favorite moments!

A few of my favorite moments and details:

1. At cocktail hour,  servers tray-passed Cheerwine, a sweet little treat for out-of-towners who have never tasted this North Carolina beverage.

2. After Nicole and Skyler walked out of the club for their grand exit to be met by their guests with sparklers in hand, her brother had a surprise awaiting us all. Fireworks! The sky lit up at just the right moment. It was something that nobody knew was coming… not even us! Such an incredible end to such a wonderful evening.

3. At several points in the evening, a few guests and bridesmaids came up to me to give us the kindest compliment. They all commented that after attending countless events at the club, they had never seen it look this good or seem so aglow. It's not just that this is a giant pat on our backs - it means that we achieved our goal of creating an atmosphere where people felt something really special.

Nicole and Skyler, we know that you two have such a beautiful lifelong marriage ahead and we're thrilled to have been a part of the moments when you started your life together. I know I say this a lot on this blog, but I mean it every.single.time. We are truly so honored to have been entrusted with something so special. Many cheers to so many more good times ahead!
