Becca + Sam's Wedding in Lewisville, North Carolina

Earlier this month, we shared Becca and Sam's vineyard rehearsal dinner, and now we're so excited to share the rest of their fantastic wedding weekend, courtesy of  photographer, Rylee Hitchner! Working with this couple and the bride's family was a true joy through and through. From the moment they got engaged, these two New Yorkers knew that they would say their vows in North Carolina at her childhood home in Lewisville.

They were married under a soft white tent and a birch wood chuppah covered spectacularly in fresh greens and blooms. Though we added a tent at the last possible minute (there was rain in the forecast!), we worked hard to preserve the look and feel of the outdoors. It was so magical to see the depth and beauty of the tree line behind the ceremony, interrupted only by the perfectly warm glow of sunshine streaming in. This location on the family's property was so meaningful because it sits directly in the view of the father of the bride's office window. For years he dreamed of seeing his daughter marry in that spot and we were so thrilled to see his idea come to life!

After the ceremony, guests proceeded down a long path through the woods to a clear top tent for cocktail hour overlooking a private lake. They enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres  while the jazz trio played, before being ushered into the grand tent for the reception. As guests dined on the amuse bouche (fresh summer peach soup with blueberries - yum!) Sam and Becca surprised everyone with a choreographed first dance they had practiced for months. These two self-described "non-dancers" brought most of the room to happy tears. It was perfect! Following a beautiful four-course dinner, dances between the father and his daughter, and mother with her son, and a slew of heartfelt toasts, the band kicked things into high gear with a lengthy and lively time-honored Jewish wedding tradition: the hora! Hours of dancing followed until midnight and the night ended at 3:00 am with a pool-party and DJ.

For our team, this was one of the most logistically complex weddings of the year (including oversight of a two-week long tent installation process at the house and a 20-hour wedding day itself!) but it was absolutely, and always will be… one of our favorites. Two moments stand out in my mind so much that I feel I have to share them:

1.) On the very first day that I met with Becca's parents to visit their property and talk with them about our services, the father of the bride said something that I truly wish every parent would understand. He looked me straight in the eye and said "I see your services as an investment not only in a wonderful wedding day, but also in our daughter's and our family's happiness throughout this engagement and planning process." Yes! Yes! Yes! I thought my heart my leap out of my chest because this is exactly what we strive to create for our clients. Joy. Joy throughout the entire process. Relief from stress and anxiety and a focus on the things that matter most. From day one, this family cherished that joy and we were so grateful to be able to help give and preserve it.

2.) Sometime around 3:00 am, at the very end of a long wedding day, our team was saying our good-byes to Sam and Becca before heading home. I'll never forget what Sam said to me as I gave him a congratulatory farewell hug. He said, "we're so grateful for you, Betsy and your entire team. You did an amazing job and you did it with such love." It was the most wonderful complement anyone could  give us. Such love! Doing things "with love" is at the very core of our business.  To know that our clients saw and felt that from us means the world to us.

To Sam, Becca, and your wonderful family: We love you and are so deeply grateful to have been a part of this time in your lives. Thank you for entrusting us with a task so big and so meaningful, and thank you for allowing us to share in your joy with you. We wish you a long lifetime of happiness!
