The Beauty of Land & Water | Styled Editorial Shoot

Back in May, I had the pleasure of creating and styling a shoot at River Oaks Charleston in South Carolina. Be still my heart! Cabell and I spent a delightful day with some incredible talent and we're so grateful for them. This little dream began months ago over a Skype chat with Brent Dietrich from Live View Studios. We decided it was time to collaborate on a creative project and settled on Charleston as our destination. Once I started to work on inspiration, I realized that River Oaks Charleston was the perfect location. I mean - PERFECT. I am so grateful to Marianne for graciously welcoming all of us to her home. This venue is so special and anyone who visits will immediately feel welcome and loved.

In the design process (I like to call it the dreaming process) a very clear aesthetic emerged and it was all about the natural beauty found on land and in water. I realize that sounds so generic, but have you ever just sat back and looked at your surroundings and realized how vibrant and beautiful our earth is?! Gorgeous blues and greens, flowers and tree branches blowing in the wind, ripples moving across a river, and the feel of grass between your toes. We're surrounded by textures, colors and powerful beauty. This is why people love to have weddings outside!  So for this shoot, that's what it's all about.

Special thanks to the following creative partners for helping bring this vision to life!
