When in Rome… a Destination Wedding in Italy

When our clients wish to jet off to Europe for an intimate wedding celebration in Italy with 30-40 guests, we know we’re in for the very best kind of challenge. It’s a difficult task to plan, design, and produce an international destination wedding… especially with a short turnaround. But that’s just the kind of challenge we embraced wholeheartedly when we started planning Devin and Avery’s celebration, less than six months before the wedding day!

Below we’re sharing a glance at part of the design plan for the wedding weekend, all made reality by the talented team of vendor partners we were proud to collaborate with both in the U.S. and in Europe. Special thanks to Oliver Fly Photography and Laurent Rostaing Films, who captured the weekend in such spectacular fashion.

Now, let’s have a look at the wedding… shall we?!

The weekend of festivities began at Hotel de Russie, with a casual welcome party, where pizzas and pasta were served family style. Though the weather forced our al fresco dinner indoors, Oliver Fly captured some of the loveliest portraits of Avery and Devin before the rain.

In Rome there are orange trees growing on every corner. Allison, our design and production manager, had such fun painting this original artwork to incorporate into some of of the guest experience. As with every wedding we design and produce, we created custom stationery, guest welcome gifts, and paper details for the weekend events.

The next day, everyone gathered at Villa Miani for the ceremony and reception to celebrate the newlyweds. The weather cooperated beautifully for the most exquisite outdoor ceremony on the terrace overlooking the historic Roman cityscape and all of it’s historic architectural glory.

After an cocktail hour with tray-passed hors d’oeuvres and post-ceremony portraits, guests moved indoors to enjoy a formal plated personal-preference-style dinner service as the sun set over the city.

Avery and Devin, it was an honor and a delight to work with you families to create such a special experience. We adore you both and can’t wait to relive all of these Italian adventures each year as we celebrate your anniversary every May!
